About Us

Hi!  We're Elliott, Rachel, and baby Gwendolyn Simko.

We work for the CCO in campus ministry on the campuses of Eastern University and Haverford College.  In partnership with the CCO, Elliott works as the Young Adult Director at Manoa Presbyterian Church.  God has called us to this work for the last three years, and we are going on our fourth year.  Our main focus is on discipling students in order to disciple others because we believe in transforming college students (in the name of Jesus Christ) in order to transform the world.  Beyond discipleship and small groups, we have a huge heart for artists and racial reconciliation.

For the first two years of our marriage, we lived in community in South Philadelphia.  Now we live right outside Philly in one of the most diverse neighborhoods in the country.  We live in intentional community with a married couple and their baby, who also happen to be students in our ministry.

We see ourselves as missionaries in the United States.  As missionaries, we raise our salary.  We see support-raising as a vital part to our ministry.  Through support-raising, God calls us to constantly re-evaluate our relationship to money and the world, and we also invite others into this re-evaluation by asking them to support our ministry.  If you would like to support us, please go here, or e-mail one of us.

In our spare time, we spend a good deal of time reading and blogging, indulging in our one vice (Rachel used to work there -- that's how they suck you in!), running and swimming, theatre-making, and spending countless hours cuddling with our baby girl.
